How to choose the right vibrator

With well over a thousand vibrators in one place, the quickest route to "the one" is to decide three things first: where you want the buzz, how strong you like it, and how you want to power it. The filters on this page for Type, Material, Vibration, Power, Waterproof and Remote or app control narrow the field in seconds. If you are new to all this, our explainer on the different types of vibrators and how they work is a good five-minute read.

Start with the type

  • Bullet and mini vibrators: small (often around 3 to 4 inches long), quiet and travel-friendly. Great for beginners and for adding to partnered sex.
  • Wand massagers: larger heads and deep, rumbly vibration for external use. The classic pick if you love intensity. Browse our wand massagers.
  • Rabbit vibrators: an insertable shaft plus a clitoral arm for dual stimulation. See the full range of rabbit vibrators.
  • G-spot vibrators: curved or angled tips designed to reach the front wall of the vagina.
  • Suction and air-pulse vibrators: pulsing, sucking or licking sensations around the clitoris, including the much-loved rose shape. Explore tongue and suction vibrators.
  • Remote-control, panty and egg vibrators: hands-free styles for teasing, date nights and partnered play.
  • Vibrating dildos and thrusting vibrators: for a feeling of fullness with added motion.

Pick a body-safe material

Look for body-safe silicone: it is non-porous, silky, warms to the touch and cleans up easily. ABS plastic and metal are also non-porous and tend to transmit a firmer, buzzier sensation. TPE and jelly-style materials feel soft and are often budget-friendly, but they are porous, so they need extra care and are best kept for one person or used with a condom.

Power, vibration and noise

Rechargeable vibrators are the most common choice and save you buying batteries. Battery-powered toys are handy for travel and quick swaps, and corded wands give steady power that never dies mid-session. Low-frequency "rumbly" vibration tends to feel deeper and more diffuse, while high-frequency "buzzy" vibration feels sharper and more surface-level; many people prefer rumbly, but it is personal. Most beginners are happy with up to 10 speeds and patterns, and more settings simply add variety. If you share walls, look for product descriptions that mention a quiet motor.

Waterproof or splash-proof?

Waterproof vibrators can join you in the bath or shower and are easier to wash under running water. Splash-proof toys can handle a rinse but should not be submerged. Tick the Waterproof filter if bath-time play is on the agenda.

How to use a vibrator

Start slow. Begin on the lowest setting, over underwear or around (rather than directly on) your most sensitive spots, and build up as arousal builds. Many people with a vulva find clitoral stimulation the main event, so even an insertable toy is worth trying externally first. Add a few drops of lube, play with angle and pressure, and take your time; there is no finish line. Remote and app-controlled vibrators let a partner take the controls, which makes them an easy way to bring a toy into couples play. Vibrator care, cleaning and lube compatibility

  • Clean your vibrator before and after every use with warm water and mild, unscented soap or a dedicated toy cleaner. Keep water away from the charging port on toys that are not waterproof.
  • Let it dry completely, then store it in a pouch or its own compartment so different materials do not touch.
  • Water-based lube is compatible with every toy material. Avoid silicone-based lube on silicone vibrators, because it can degrade the surface over time; if you love silicone lube, patch-test a hidden spot first.
  • Recharge before the battery runs completely flat, and top up every few months if a toy goes unused.

Need a bottle to go with your new favorite? Pick one from our personal lubricants; a water-based formula is the safest all-rounder.

Discreet shipping on every vibrator

Every order ships in a plain, unbranded box, and your billing statement shows our business name rather than anything that hints at what is inside. Spend $85 or more and US shipping is free, which makes a great excuse to add a travel bullet or a bottle of lube to your cart.
